Bespoke Furniture is not something people order on a regular basis so it can be confusing at first glance. We are experienced in guiding clients through furniture manufacturing process and have come up with some useful hints and tips to help potential customers;
What Furniture Designs are possible?
We create furniture which generally uses a mixture of Metal and Wood. This can help reduce weight and provide a softer aesthetic. We would always recommend simplifying designs in order to avoid unforeseen issues. Simply Designs that are beautifully made always win.
What happens when commissioning?
Once you have the design agreed and drawings are exchanged. We will begin creating your furniture. Although we will keep you informed of progress. Regular pictures and updates are tricky as they don’t always tell the full picture. Unfinished hardwood look very different to Oil or Waxed furniture.
Do provide examples and research?
We encourage clients to send us examples of designer furniture that’s caught your eye. This helps us build a picture of what you are after in terms of finish, style and size. Feel free to send us inspiration from Pinterest, Instagram or online
What type of Materials to use?
We believe it’s best to avoid using lots of different materials in your piece. As this can result in more processes being used which can increase costs. If you are working to a budget it’s always helpful to know as we can plan accordingly so the furniture is tailored to you. Check out our Material Library.
Do think about Dimensions - a lot!
Having appropriately sized furniture is important. Using masking tape on the floor can help visualise your furniture. This can also help in anticipate potential delivery snags. Before the piece can get to its final destination it must fit through the door.
